The Reuben Ugbine Sculptural Fellowship

A funded annual residency and scholarship for promising young Nigerian sculptors who work in wood or clay. Fellows receive studio space, seasoned timber and mentoring, and show their work at the Ikoyi gallery.

The Auchi School Symposia Series

Curators, art historians and sculptors come together to discuss modern Nigerian sculpture, the conservation of wood and clay, and how ancestral ideas meet contemporary African art.

A Seated Child (2005), painted terracotta by Reuben Ugbine

Terracotta and Heritage Youth Masterclasses

Workshops for secondary school and university students on clay firing, coil pottery and figure modelling, drawing on his terracotta work of the 1980s.

Behind the programmes.

The programmes belong to the Reuben Ugbine Foundation, a new family initiative to look after his archive and support young sculptors.
